Stop Trying to Be the Hero: Why Your Training Deserves Your Full Focus

When you're in a training session, your priority should be to fully absorb the content, not to fix production issues back at work. I once taught a class where a student was so focused on solving bugs that they missed out on learning key material. When asked if their company would fail if they didn’t solve the issue, the answer was no. More importantly, management likely won’t remember the "heroic" bug fix when the lack of training catches up later. Remember, being distracted by "saving the day" can hinder your growth. Focus on what matters for your future and the future of your company.
